Description
- Size: 35 cm high, stems 0.6-1.3 m high
- Flower color: purple to green, becoming straw-colored
- Flowering time: September to November
- Bird attracting: Seeds
- Growing conditions: Moist well drained soils in lowland and foothill forests. Partial shade.
- Garden use: Drift through trees or use as accent plants in shady garden beds. Tip of florets can be sharp, penetrating skin of people, pets and stock.
- Edibles: Meristem/buds – eaten raw
